Our story began in a very modern way… on Facebook Dating, although Chris was fully convinced Dusty’s profile was too good to be true. (Seriously, no way someone that cute, kind, and cool was real… right?)

So naturally, Chris opened with:“Did you row, row, row your boat gently down that stream?” a comment inspired by Dusty’s photo at the iconic boathouse from 27 Dresses in New York. Somehow, that questionable pickup line worked… and the rest is history.

Our first official date was at El Dorado Cantina on November 10th, 2023, and from that night on, it was clear something special was happening… even if Chris ended the date with a very awkward side hug. (Nerves were involved.)

We bonded quickly over our shared love of music, our mutual obsession with Star Wars, and a lot of laughter. Along the way, Chris successfully converted Dusty into a Dodgers fan, and Dusty successfully converted Chris into loving Buddy the Elf. Fair trade.

Ever since we’ve been together, the Dodgers have won back-to-back World Series. Coincidence? We think not. It felt only fair that if the Dodgers were getting rings… Dusty should get one too.

So on May 4th, 2025 (Star Wars Day, of course), at a Star Wars music concert, Chris proposed, and Dusty said yes.

What started with a silly message, a leap of faith, and a taco date turned into the love of our lives. We are so excited to begin this next chapter together, and even more excited to celebrate it with all of you.
